Tips and Tricks

Catching up with my blog must-reads, I spotted this fantastic tutorial on Ohdeedoh from Living with Punks. I can't wait to try it myself and am already thinking that doing it with oilcloth or laminated cotton may make for some ideal outdoor seating in our backyard/patio.

Super simple with great details! In addition to going with the outdoor options, try one of the Premier Prints home decor fabrics or from the new Joel Dewberry Heirloom collection!

For several years one of my favorite online destinations for inspiration and ideas is Design*Sponge . Founder Grace Bonney and her ever-growing team of contributors and editors never seem to stop providing fantastic content. A couple of years ago they started a Sewing 101 series with Brett Bara which has offered some fantastic and fun projects.

One of my recent favorites is the oilcloth storage bin project. Perfect for getting organized and if you make both sides using oilcloth, the container is perfect as a planter on the patio or storage for gardening tools, toys and more outdoors! And wouldn't the Chalkcloth be perfect for the outside? You can be organized and know what's what!

We've got some oilcloth in right now with more laminated cottons coming in (LouLouthi from Anna Maria Horner and Heirloom by Joel Dewberry). You can find the Chalkcloth here too!
