Amy Butler may very well be the fabric designer that revolutionized the quilting industry with her modern and fresh take on not only midweight cotton fabrics but also home decor. In addition to her beautiful fabrics, she also has created a fantastic assortment of patterns and books available for purchase. Her In Stitches book was an early favorite of mine and definitely inspired me to sew more and more.

While we don't currently stock any of her patterns or books (would love to hear from customers if that's a need), I do love checking out her free patterns page. It's another treasure chest of fun projects, which would work with her fabrics (now on sale!!) or any of the ones we carry. The laminated picnic blanket is perfect for oilcloth!

In celebration of her new collection Loulouthi coming to Drygoods Design in mere days, I wanted to share a page that often gets my mind and creative wishes flowing.

Anna has a treasure chest of free patterns and more right here on her site. I also recommend her blog, it's a weekly stop of mine and she does a great job of injecting personal ditties into her life's work.

Here's a snapshot of the fabrics we'll have from her Loulouthi along with her official write-up on what inspired her for the collection:

Loulouthi is a treasure box of all that I love about flowers and fabric coming together in form and inspiration. The word loulouthi simply translates from the Greek as “flower”. But in an ongoing story, my cultural heritage has enlivened these fabrics with visions of needleworks in progress, the gentle tending of village gardens, and the luxury of living alongside everyday works of art. The language of flowers and floral handiwork has spoken to me since before I could thread my own needles, and this collection is my reply to all that beauty.
